The Saudi Food and Drug Authority: Resting full body weight on the Padded Swing Away Armrest of some wheelchairs models may cause injuries

<p class="ms-rteElement-P">​The Saudi food and drug authority would like to alert all consumers from the possibility of injury when the Padded Swing Away Armrest is used to rest full body weight on some models of wheelchairs manufactured by Sunrise Medical.</p>

<p class="ms-rteElement-P">Reports of injury have been received by the manufacturer, when the Padded Swing Away Armrest on wheelchairs of the following models: Quickie Q7 (EIR4), Quickie GT (EIR3), Quickie GTi (EIT4) and Zippie Zone (EIRZ1) is used to rest full body weight. Owner's manual states that armrest is only designed for resting of forearm.</p>

<p class="ms-rteElement-P">The Saudi Food and Drug Authority recommends all consumers to read the owner's/user’s manual and follow the recommendations for proper usage of these products.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="ms-rteElement-P">Saudi Food and Drug Authority encourage all&nbsp; to report any adverse event associated with medical devices through the National Center for Medical Devices Reporting :</p>
