SFDA warns from buying or consuming products that contain Organic sprouted Chia Powder, sold under “Navitas Naturals” trade name by some web sites

SFDA received an alert through the Rapid Food Alarms Network “INFOSAN” advising of intoxication cases caused by Salmonella Bacteria in several USA States and Canada, leading to the recall of the products containing Organic sprouted Chia Powder, as follows: 

 SFDA has investigated this matter and proved that the products do not exist in the Saudi markets but are marketed in the Kingdom through the internet by (BIOVEA) company. Therefore, SFDA advises consumers not to buy or consume these products and immediately dispose of any quantities they may have in hand. However, SFDA addressed the respective authorities in order to take the necessary actions to ensure stopping marketing of these products in the Kingdom.
