Saudi Food & Drug Authority warns people with peanut allergy from products that may contain peanuts

Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) was notified that Universal Protein Supplements Corporation has announced on 7/6/1432 H (10/5/2011) voluntary recall of several chocolate, biscuits and cakes products of the following brands:

1. CarbRite Diet Doctor’s : 10 products as per the attached information and pictures.
2. Universal Hi Protein: 2 products as per the attached information and pictures,

which are produced by Universal Nutrition, USA and bearing the expiry date 30/6/2012 ( 10/8/1433H) as they may contain peanuts that is not indicated in their package tags and hence may jeopardize the health of people who are allergic to peanuts
.
Whereas ,SFDA received information on 04/07/1432 H (6/6/2010 G) providing that these products have been exported to the Kingdom. Therefore SFDA warns people who are allergic to peanuts from taking these products, expiring on 30/06/2012 , for the safety of their health. SFDA is coordinating with the respective authorities to take the necessary action to speed up the recall of these products from local markets.
