SFDA Warns from using Two Cosmetic Products as they Contain Restricted Coloring Material

SFDA warned consumers from using Two Lip Stick Products as they contain one of the restricted coloring materials by GCC Standard Specifications ’GSO 1943’ concerning Safety of Cosmetic Products
SFDA announced that its specialists had collected and analyzed samples of cosmetic products where the results of these analysis revealed that two of these products contain a restricted coloring martial number CI 425 10. Pointing out that exposure to this material may be hazardous to consumer’s health.
The first product is called “Golden Lady”, made in China with Lot number GL-69 and expiry date12/2019
The second product is called “Tooty Color Long Lasting Lip Gloss”, made in Taiwan with Lot number G30-1 and expiry date2/2020
SFDA advised consumers not to use these products and to dispose of any quantities they may have in hand, stressing the importance of buying products from reliable sources through which products origin can be traced. However, points of sales should stop selling these products and return them to importers. Moreover, importers and distributors should recall these products from the points of sale and warehouses and shall coordinate with SFDA to destroy them.
SFDA pointed out that they are taking the necessary action toward this in coordination with the respective authorities to track recall of these products from the market, prevent their entry and taking the necessary disciplinary actions against violators.
