SFDA Warns from using a Make-Up & Nail Polish Products as they contain restricted coloring materials

SFDA warned consumers from using two cosmetic products: 1- A Nail Polish and 2- A Skin Make Up as they contain restricted coloring materials according to the Standard Specifications GSO 1943 regarding the safety of Cosmetic products.
SFDA announced that its specialists had collected and analyzed samples of nail polish products where the results of these analysis revealed that one of  these products contains a restricted coloring martial number CI 26 105, pointing out that exposure to this material may be hazardous to consumer’s health.
SFDA added that its specialists had collected samples of make-up products from the local market to check for their safety. Analysis revealed that one of these products contained two restricted coloring materials Numbs (CI 12140 & CI 45170:1), pointing out that exposure to these materials may be hazardous to consumers health.
The Nail Polish product is called (The best MA makyaj-nail polish 18), made in China, with Lot number MD2628 and expiry date 18/8/2016
The Make-Up product is called (The Voox make-up), made in China, with Lot number Tv - 2027 and expiry date 11/2018
SFDA advised consumers not to use these products and to dispose of any quantities they may have in hand, stressing the importance of buying products from reliable sources through which products origin can be traced. However, points of sales should stop selling these products and return them to importers. Moreover, importers and distributors should recall these products from the points of sale and warehouses and shall coordinate with SFDA to destroy them.
SFDA pointed out that they are taking the necessary action toward this in coordination with the respective authorities to track recall of these products from the market, prevent their entry and take the necessary disciplinary actions against violators.
