SFDA: Powder fruit drink is free of harmful chemicals

<p>Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) stated that the rumor that multi-flavored fruit beverages in the form of "powder" contain some dangerous ingredients, such as calcium phosphate, which breaks down bones, is untrue.</p>

<p>The SFDA emphasized that all ingredients used in the making of any food item are tested for safety and that no ingredient with a detrimental effect on health may be included.</p>

<p>The authority advised consumers to reduce the consumption of these drinks, as they contain high amounts of sugar and low nutritional value, and the need to read product labels carefully to ensure that they contain appropriate amounts of nutritional ingredients.</p>
