"SFDA" Obtains Recognition Certificate from the European Foundation for Quality Management

<p>The European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) announced that the Saudi Food &amp; Drug Authority (SFDA) has obtained the “Recognized for Excellence 4 Stars” certificate, as a result of the Authority’s high-level adherence to Award criteria.<br />
SFDA was able to obtain the certificate by adopting concepts of excellence, applying institutional work systems, in addition to developing and governing operations in order to improve and enhance the performance despite the challenges that the world has faced during the Corona pandemic (COVID-19).<br />
Saudi Food &amp; Drug Authority has got “Recognized for Excellence 4 stars” after adopting the EFQM organizational excellence model, which evaluates capabilities and results based on 9 main criteria: Leadership, Strategy, People, Partnerships &amp; Resources, Processes &amp; Services, Customers’ Results, People Results, Society Results, Business Results.<br />
SFDA worked on developing strategic plans, objectives and institutional values; following up the effective implementation of projects and achieving goals in partnership with the public and private sectors; facilitating work procedures and automating services to achieve customer satisfaction.<br />
Additionally, working to enhancing employee empowerment, and expansion though training and qualifying employees and building second-row leaders.<br />
Also, implementation of several international standards such as ISOs 9001, ISO17025, ISO17020, ISO22301, ISO 27001, and obtaining accreditation from related institutions, in addition to adopting the concept of efficiency of spending, as the SFDA has received two certificates of thanks from the Center of Spending Efficiency in 2019 and 2020.<br />
The European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) is a non-profit organization, established in Brussels in 1989 to increase the competitiveness of the economy, excellence of performance and institutional business development.<br />
Saudi Food &amp; Drug Authority have recently won the King Abdulaziz Quality Award and the Arab Governmental Excellence Award as the best Arab governmental Authority in 2020.</p>
