The SFDA Attended the Forty-First Meeting of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures Committee that Belongs to the World Trade Organization

The SFDA, represented by its Food Sector, accompanied with the Saudi delegation specialized in Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, that belongs to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, participated in the Forty- First meeting of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures Committee in William Ropard Center- Geneva, during the 31st of March to the 4th of April, 2008.<br />The SFDA, by this participation, seeks to inform about the periodical meetings of (PSP) Committee, and it was represented by his Excellency the Executive Vice President of Food Affair Dr. Ibraheem bin Saad Almuhaize and the Consultant of Food Sector Dr. Mustafa Abdu Qasim. During the meeting, a workshop entitled &quot;The Mechanisms Used in the Assessment of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures Needs&quot; was held, and several relative issues have been discussed; like the activities of the Committee members, transparency, special and differential treatment application, equivalence, pests and free areas of pests as well as other scheduled missions.</p>
