The Canadian Minister of International Trade Visits SFDA

<p>H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal, CEO of the Saudi Food &amp; Drug Authority (SFDA), received at SFDA Head Office Mr. Peter Van Lon , International Trade Minister of Canada and his accompanying delegation. Dr. Al Kanhal overviewed with his guest the mission, goals and objectives of SFDA and the procedural, implementation and control tasks carried out by SFDA to ensure safety of food and drug for people and animals as well as safety of biotic, chemical and electronic products affecting the health of human beings at the level of food, drug and medical devices.<br />Dr. Al Kanhal also accompanied his guest in a tour to SFDA Medical Devices Sector, wherein he viewed a presentation on the Development of Medical Devices Control Program, in terms of program objectives, evaluation and development scope. The guest also viewed Medical Devices National Register and its role in surveillance of technical faults and errors, that may cause health problems to patients, via the National Center for Medical Devices Reports and Medical and Diagnostic Devices Safety Standards.<br />At the end of the introductory tour H.E Minister of International Trade (Canada) presented a souvenir to Dr. Al Kanhal who in turn presented a souvenir drawing to the Canadian Minister.</p>
