SFDA Chairs the Meeting of Scientific and Technical Groups in the Asian Harmonization Working Party (AHWP)

Saudi Food and Drug Authority has participated in the 23rd meeting of Asian Harmonization Working Party (AHWP), which has been hosted lately by Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.&nbsp;</div>

<div>Eng. Ali Al – Dula’n, delegated Vice President of Medical Devices and Products Sector, the head of scientific and technical teams of the organization in the SFDA, has inaugurated the 23rd meeting headed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Dr. Zamani Abdul Rahman, President of AHWP Organization.</div>

<div>The meeting tackled a number of regulatory issues related to medical devices and products, such as the use of artificial intelligence in health care as well as the latest developments and innovations in electronic field, cyber security and protection of medical devices data.</div>

<div>Moreover, the conference presented the latest updates conducted by the concerned countries in the field of regulatory requirements for monitoring laboratory reagents, as well as the unified coding system for medical devices and products. Saudi Arabia, represented by the SFDA, provided the most recent updates of its experience in the coding system.</div>
