The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, conducted an inspection tour of several facilities within the SFDA's jurisdiction in the Makkah region. This visit was part of a comprehensive effort to evaluate the readiness of regulatory and field operations prior to the Hajj season 1447 AH.

During the tour, Dr. Aljadhey reviewed the preparedness of key regulatory procedures designed to ensure the safety, quality, and compliance of all food, pharmaceutical, and medical products with Saudi Arabia’s standards.

Dr. Aljadhey’s inspection covered multiple food factories and warehouses, where he observed SFDA inspectors monitoring every stage of production—from initial preparation and manufacturing to final packaging. He emphasized that maintaining strict compliance with the highest quality and safety standards across these facilities is vital to enhancing the safety of products offered to pilgrims.

The SFDA CEO was also briefed on the advanced technologies employed by the SFDA to drive operational efficiency and sustainability, supporting its role in the collaborative work system during Hajj. Notably, the Authority has integrated body cameras into its field operations to ensure maximum transparency, elevate quality control, and provide real-time data support to inspection teams, thereby strengthening integration and coordination among various relevant entities.

The SFDA plays a pivotal role in food, drugs, and medical devices safety during Hajj by executing comprehensive inspection and field plans across entry points, the holy sites, and facilities under its supervision. These efforts protect the health of pilgrims, reflecting the dedication of Saudi Arabia’s wise leadership to serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, enabling them to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind.
