The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, met today in Jeddah with industry leaders from the food, drug, and medical device sectors. Organized by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and attended by the First Vice Chairman, Mr. Raed Ibrahim Al-Mudaiheem, the meeting is part of periodic sessions held by the Authority across the Kingdom, reflecting its commitment to strengthening the investment environment in the sectors under its supervision.

Discussions focused on the challenges companies face, opportunities for accelerating innovation, streamlining procedures, and enhancing regulatory compliance.

Dr. Aljadhey emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships and their pivotal role in creating a sustainable, high-quality food, drug, and medical device system. He noted that empowering the private sector is a strategic objective of SFDA and a key factor in raising the standard of services and products. These efforts positively impact public health and safety while strengthening the Kingdom's regional and global competitiveness.

Furthermore, Dr. Aljadhey indicated that the meeting served as a forum for constructive dialogue, transforming regulatory challenges into growth opportunities in line with Saudi Vision 2030. He reaffirmed that the safety of products circulating in the market is a top priority, emphasizing the SFDA's unwavering commitment to consumer health and reducing non-compliant products. Additionally, he stressed the importance of enhancing food safety during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
