SFDA Clears the First Medical Shipment of 44 Tons for Hajj Pilgrims

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has successfully completed the clearance procedures for the first medical shipment intended for this year's Hajj pilgrims. The shipment arrived via Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina, weighing 44 tons and consisting of essential medicines and medical products.

This operation highlights the SFDA's commitment to its oversight role at Saudi Arabia's air and sea ports. The Authority actively works to ensure the safety and quality of all imported food, medicine, and medical products, verifying their adherence to established specifications and standards.

The proactive preparatory and awareness campaigns conducted by the SFDA, in collaboration with Hajj Affairs Offices, have significantly bolstered compliance with the regulations governing the clearance of medicines, pharmaceutical preparations, medical devices and supplies, and food items destined for Hajj consumption.

Dedicated SFDA teams are operating around the clock to meticulously monitor incoming shipments, ensuring efficient processing and the safety of products reaching pilgrims. Monitoring efforts are particularly intensified at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina, carried out in close coordination with relevant government authorities and the SFDA's private sector partners.
