SFDA Issues Warning Against Maragatty Chicken Stock Cubes

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has issued a warning against "Maragatty" chicken stock cubes, originating from Egypt, packaged in 480-gram containers with an expiration date of 01/11/2026. The product has been found to contain banned artificial colors (Dimethyl Yellow, Sudan I, Sudan IV), which pose potential health risks to consumers.

The SFDA urges consumers to avoid consuming this product and to dispose of it immediately. The Authority has taken all necessary measures to withdraw the product from markets and is pursuing regulatory action against the importing company.

The SFDA stresses that violations of the Food Law and its Implementing Regulation can result in fines of up to 10 million SAR, imprisonment for up to 10 years, or both.

The Authority reiterated its commitment to protecting the health of citizens and residents and will not tolerate any violations. It will continue to ensure the safety of food products and take appropriate action against violators. Consumers are encouraged to report any food violations through the unified call center (19999).
