SFDA Outlines Products Requiring Approval Before Advertising

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has emphasized the importance of obtaining approval before advertising products under its supervision, to ensure their safety and protect 

public health.

The SFDA clarified that medical devices and supplies, pesticides, animal feed, food products, and non-prescription medicines are not permitted to be advertised without prior approval from the SFDA. Advertisers must also adhere to the conditions and regulations governing the approval process for advertising these products through media.

The SFDA has outlined several conditions and controls for advertising these products. These include ensuring that the claims made in the advertisement are approved by the SFDA, avoiding any statements that disparage or negatively affect other products, confirming that the product is registered or listed with the SFDA, and ensuring that the advertisement does not contain misleading claims for consumers.

The SFDA urges compliance with the established conditions and controls for advertising products and encourages the individuals to report any violations by calling the unified number (19999).
