National Nutrition Committee Reviews Implementation Plan at its Fifth Meeting of the Second Session

The National Nutrition Committee (NNC) of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) held its fifth meeting of the second session on Wednesday, chaired by the SFDA CEO and NNC Chairman Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey.

The NNC members from various government and private entities attended the meeting, which was held at the SFDA's headquarters in Riyadh.

During the meeting, the General Secretariat of the Committee reviewed its implementation plan, discussed progress on drafting the second strategic plan, and addressed several agenda items.

It is noteworthy that the NNC is a scientific advisory body established within the organizational structure of the SFDA based on Council of Ministers Resolution No. 144, dated 5/3/1440 AH, and its membership includes representatives from government agencies, nutrition consultants, and the private sector. It aims to improve the nutritional and health situation in the Kingdom to build a healthy society through providing its recommendations and scientific opinions on nutrition to relevant authorities.
