SFDA Refers Facility to Public Prosecution for Manufacturing and Marketing Cosmetics in a Residential House

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has referred a facility in Qatif to the Public Prosecution to take necessary legal measures for manufacturing and marketing cosmetics without obtaining the required licenses, as well as for storing products subject to the SFDA's control in an unlicensed location.

The SFDA explained that through the traceability process of an anonymous product marketed via websites, it was discovered that the product was being manufactured illegally in a residential house. Consequently, the products and raw materials were seized, and an unlicensed warehouse belonging to the facility was identified, containing unregistered cosmetics and foodstuffs. An area for processing online orders was also found, and all processed applications were pending verification to ensure the absence of irregular products.

The SFDA indicated that the storage site was closed and that approximately 365,000 seized items were confiscated from the outlet, house, and warehouse.

The SFDA reaffirms its commitment to monitoring any violations of applicable regulations and will continue to enforce legal procedures against any violators posing direct harm to human health. It encourages the reporting of violations by establishments under its supervision by calling the unified number 19999 or through the Tameni application.
