CEO of the SFDA Meets with Company Officials at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce HQ

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, met with several company officials and representatives from the food, drug, medical devices, and medical products sectors in the Western Region. The meeting was held today, Monday, at the headquarters of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Industry (JCCI) and was attended by Mr. Mohammed Yousuf Naghi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JCCI.

The meeting reviewed aspects of joint cooperation, explored ways to enable investment, and identified investment opportunities within the SFDA’s purview. It also provided a platform for private sector representatives to share their observations and challenges, allowing the Authority to refine its services for beneficiaries and enhance quality. The focus remained on maximizing effective partnerships between the Authority and the private sector.

Dr. Aljadhey emphasized the paramount importance of elevating product quality in the market to ensure consumer safety. He reiterated the SFDA’s commitment to leveraging all its capabilities to support investment while strictly adhering to legislation that safeguards public health. He also highlighted the significance of activating self-control mechanisms within the private sector as a crucial contribution to the collective efforts of all government agencies in this field.

Furthermore, he stressed the pivotal role of the private sector in achieving public safety through strict adherence to quality standards and ensuring that products comply with the SFDA’s regulations and requirements. Dr. Aljadhey underscored the importance of collaborative efforts and joint endeavors to attain national objectives in food and drug safety.

The officials and representatives from the private sector expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this meeting and acknowledged its significance in fostering enhanced cooperation and joint efforts. They also presented numerous questions, inquiries, and suggestions, which were addressed by Dr. Aljadhey and the SFDA officials, each according to their respective areas of expertise, covering all topics raised during the meeting.
