SFDA Warns of Using Unregistered Pharmaceutical Products

Pursuant to its role of awareness and based on one of its tasks, provided in its regulations, regarding consumer awareness in food , drug & medical devices area; SFDA Inspection Teams have tracked the advertisements published by The Saudi-Singaporean Factory in several newspapers for pharmaceutical products that are not registered in SFDA. In addition, that no evidence is provided to prove the alleged benefits, safety, efficiency and validity of use of the advertised medical products whereas no documented scientific studies are provided to support licensing these products for use.
The Saudi-Singaporean Factory activities, e.g. imports, manufacturing and advertisement of such pharmaceutical products are considered violating to pharmaceutical products and organizations regulation. Moreover, the said factory is not registered within SFDA along with pharmaceutical products factories. Therefore, SFDA has informed the concerned authorities accordingly and coordinated with them in order to take the appropriate legal action against the factory. Thus the factory was actually closed out and an undertaking was made by its owner providing that he will not practice any activities related to pharmaceutical products
However, due to the possibility that some of the said factory products may be available in the market, therefore SFDA advices citizens and residents to avoid using the products of the said factory , dispose them and not to listen to the alleged benefits of these products for their own safety, and report to SFDA of any dealers or promoters of such products by contacting SFDA via mail or telephone call to 012759222 – Extensions: 5389, 5342, 5385 or e-mail to : drug.dept@sfda.gov.sa
SFDA strictly warns of dealing with the said factory, purchase or acquisition of any of its products. Any individuals who market such products shall be held responsible by law.
