SFDA Warns Consumers Not to Use “Wheat Embryo” Infant Shampoo and “ Beauty Skin” and “Golden Turmeric” Creams, as they contain large quantities of bacteria.

SFDA announced that it collected and analyzed samples of hair shampoos and skin creams of various trademarks traded in the local markets in its laboratories, under surveillance and control program of  cosmetics safety. Analysis results revealed that Wheat Embryo Infant  Shampoo, locally produced in Saudi Arabia  at(The First Traveller Factory for Fragrances & Cosmetics) and two creams manufactured in Thailand namely ‘ Beauty Skin’ and ‘ Golden Turmeric’  used for whitening of dark skin and between the legs, contain large quantity of bacteria in violation to GCC Specifications for hair shampoo No. GSO 396/2000 and GCC specifications for skin creams No. GSO 1152/ 2002, respectively.

SFDA has addressed the respective authorities to take the necessary legal action to recall the product from the market. SFDA also advised consumers not buy these products and dispose of any samples they may have in hand and to make sure of the presence of the right information on the cosmetics product labels, e.g.,  Manufacturer’s name, content, lot number and production date.​
