Within the efforts exerted by the Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) and pursuant to its mission of monitoring and control of all matters related to safety of products under its control. And, pursuant to the Royal directions to SFDA to make sure that all potable water plants comply with the revised Saudi Standard Specifications No. (409/2000). And, in continuation of its monitoring & control efforts of potable water plants to ensure compliance with the above referenced Saudi Standard Specifications, analysis revealed that Badr Potable Water produced by Badr factory of Wadi Al Dawasir Province, has exceeded the maximum permissible limit of Bromate

Accordingly, SFDA warns consumers not to use this water and dispose of all stock they may possess of this brand for the safety of their health. Moreover, SFDA has addressed the Municipality of Wadi Al Dawasir Province to take the necessary action to stop production of the said plant and urge it to recall its product from the market until this situation is rectified, and make sure that it complies with the above Standard Specifications. SFDA has also addressed the Deputy Ministry of Commerce & Industry for Consumer Affairs in this regard. SFDA is continuing to check and monitor all potable water plants to make sure that they comply with the maximum permissible limit of Bromate and disciplinary actions will be taken against violating plants.
