A Workshop re. Discussion of How to Enhance Vitamin “D” in Food

<p style="text-align:justify"> Under the auspice of  H.E. Chief Executive Officer of SFDA, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Almishal  SFDA organized today a workshop entitled “How to enrich and detect Vitamin ’D’ in Food products, in coordination with KSU &amp; Prince Metib bin Abdullah ResearchChair for Osteoporosis, at Madareem Crown Hotel in Riyadh.</p>
<div style="text-align:justify"><div><p class="ms-rteElement-P">The workshop tackled many important topics such as Vitamin ’D’, presented by Dr. Nasser Aldaghri of KSU, Methods of enriching food with vitamin D, presented by Dr. Hannan Alfawaz of KSU, Food regulations related to vitamin D, presented by Mr. Mishal Almutairi of SFDA, Vitamin D Sources and requirements, presented by Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Othman, Vitamin D measurement, presented by Dr. Khaled Alkharfi, and the Economic burden resulting from the lack of vitamin D, presented by Dr. Naji Al Jehani</p>
<p class="ms-rteElement-P" style="text-align:justify">The workshop was closed by an open discussion for the attendees, distributin of attance certificates and calculation of the number of hours approved by Saudi Commission for Health Specialities for the attendees.</p>
