SFDA Takes Part in SIPHA Annual Meeting

<p>The Saudi Food and Drug Authority participates in the 6th annual meeting of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society "SIPHA". The meeting is held in Dhahran under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif, Governor of the Eastern Region, and in the presence of His Excellency the CEO of SFDA, Dr. Hisham bin Saad Aljadhey, during the period 3-5 January 2023.<br />
Through its participation in the meeting, the SFDA sheds light on its role in the safety and security of medicine in the Kingdom, through workshops it presents on regulations, investments and initiatives related to the pharmaceutical industry, in addition to its participation in an interactive awareness pavilion in which it reviews some of the services it provides to individuals and the business sector regarding products subject to its supervision.<br />
This year's conference will discuss the various topics and fields of pharmacy, most notably the journey of pharmaceutical fields in economic diversification, transfer of technology and development of research in the field of biomedicine, and the digital transformation of the health system in the Kingdom. It will also shed light on the practice of the profession in community pharmacies, and the role of gene therapy in human diseases.<br />
It is noteworthy that the meeting is one of the largest gatherings of pharmacists in the Kingdom and the Middle East, and it will witness 9 scientific sessions with more than 91 speakers, 10 workshops, an exhibition in which eight local entities and 15 pharmaceutical companies participate, and a clinical skills competition for students. It also hosts entities from the Gulf and Arab countries and leaders in the Health field. The meeting is organized by the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society under the umbrella of King Saud University.<br />
