SFDA lifts temporary embargo on fresh vegetables imports from EU States, with exception of imports from Federal Republic of Germany

In continuation of SFDA’s effort in following up updates about EHEC bacteria infections in Federal Republic of Germany and a number of EU states.<br />And, upon reviewing the reports received from the International Food Safety Network (INFOSAN), EU Commission and other control authorities in Federal Republic of Germany about this incident, which contained information indicating that the origin of this problem is Germany and no evidence to prove that they are transported from other EU countries<br />In view of its control role and according to SPS agreement and upon coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, SFDA issued its decree No. 101/32 dated 20/7/1432H which lifts temporary embargo on fresh vegetables imports (e.g fresh salads)from EU States, with exception of imports of same from Federal Republic of Germany only, as a precautionary procedure to ensure safety and health of consumers. SFDA assures that it continues following up of any updates in this regard.<br />Wishing you good health.</p>
