<p>Within the efforts exerted by the Saudi Food &amp; Drug Authority (SFDA) and pursuant to its mission of monitoring and control of all matters related to safety of products under its control. And, pursuant to the Royal directions to SFDA to make sure that all potable water plants comply with the revised Saudi Standard Specifications No. (409/2000). And, in continuation of its monitoring &amp; surveillance efforts of potable water plants to ensure their compliance with the above referenced Saudi Standard Specifications, SFDA periodically takes and analyzes samples of potable water from different factories within the Kingdom. Analysis of “Ouyun Makkah water” produced by Ouyun Makkah Factory, of Jeddah Province revealed that it has exceeded the maximum allowed limit of Bromate</p>

<p>Accordingly, SFDA warns consumers not to drink this water and to dispose of all stock they may possess of this brand for the safety of their health. Moreover, SFDA has addressed the Amanat of Jeddah Province to take the necessary action to stop production of the said plant and urge it to recall its product from the market until this situation is rectified, and make sure that it complies with the above Standard Specifications. SFDA has also addressed the Ministry of Commerce &amp; Industry and the Ministry of Municipal &amp; Rural Affairs in this regard. SFDA is continuing to check and monitor all potable water plants to make sure that they do not exceed the maximum allowed limit of Bromate and take disciplinary actions against violating plants.<br />
