The National Committee for Nutrition Holds the 2nd Meeting of its Third Session

The National Committee for Nutrition held the second meeting of its third session today. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Prof. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). Members from government and private sector entities also attended.

Held at the SFDA headquarters in Riyadh, the meeting's agenda included a review by the Committee’s General Secretariat of the strategic performance report. The report covered the Committee’s work, projects, and achievements through the third quarter of 2025. Members also reviewed the Saudi Healthy Eating Index (SHEI), a scientific tool designed to assess and improve the quality of dietary habits across the Kingdom.

As a scientific advisory body, the Committee plays a vital role in advancing nutritional well-being and building a healthier society by providing scientific recommendations and expert opinions to relevant authorities. Established under the SFDA's organizational structure by Cabinet Resolution No. (144) dated 5/3/1440 AH, the Committee’s board includes representatives from government agencies, private sector partners, and distinguished nutrition consultants, all working together to shape a healthier future for Saudi Arabia.
