The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Prof. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, recently held a series of meetings with academic institutions in the United States. The engagements, held on the sidelines of his participation at the 41st Annual Meeting of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE), came as part of  the SFDA's commitment to enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise, which contributes to strengthening its scientific and regulatory standing.

During his visit to Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Aljadhey met with Prof. Keshia Pollack Porter, Dean of the Bloomberg School of Public Health, and other faculty members. They discussed the university's advanced experience in clinical studies and its use of modern technology and AI to ensure drug safety and support regulatory science.

Dr. Aljadhey also met with Prof. Kathryn Newcomer, Director of the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at George Washington University. Their discussion focused on public policy, regulatory challenges, and issues concerning health, pharmaceuticals, and food systems, which opens the door for new academic and research partnerships.

During both meetings, Dr. Aljadhey emphasized that the SFDA is committed to building strong partnerships with academic institutions. He stated that the Authority's regulatory decisions are based on solid scientific research and studies. These efforts, he noted, align with the goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program, a key part of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to create a more efficient and innovative health system.
