The SFDA Honored with the Arab Digital Government Award for AI in Drug Availability

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) was honored with the 2025 Arab Digital Government Award in the "Artificial Intelligence Initiatives" category for its initiative, "Using Artificial Intelligence in Drug Availability," during the 20th edition of the award ceremony held in Dubai. Organized by the Arab Digital Government Authority, the award celebrates outstanding government entities across the Arab region.

The "Using Artificial Intelligence in Drug Availability" initiative was conceived by the SFDA to address the critical need for ensuring the consistent availability of essential medicines—a challenge that previously lacked effective solutions. Through this initiative, the SFDA aims to guarantee access to unavailable medicines, thereby improving overall health outcomes and ensuring comprehensive healthcare access for all.

The SFDA's success in securing this award is attributed to its fulfillment of the stringent criteria for the "Artificial Intelligence Initiatives" track. These criteria encompassed the initiative's genesis and rationale, originality, practical applicability, financial and regulatory prerequisites, implementation complexities, tangible outcomes of its deployment and evolution, potential for future growth and scalability, the number of individuals benefiting, responsiveness, and public satisfaction levels.
